Kerrygold Giveaway
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Tina R.! We hope you enjoy all that fabulous cheese and buttah!
This post is a long time coming. Last year, I had the privilege of participating in a blogger contest for Kerrygold Cheese and Butter. Kerrygold asked us to review and highlight the virtues of their newest products, Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter and Reduced Fat Irish Butter.
I had an absolute blast creating four compound butters: Maple Honey Nut Butter, Mexican Hot Chocolate Butter, Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Butter, and Texas Gold Butter.
Texas Gold was by far my favorite, though each is delicious in its own way. Texas Gold, however, I could eat on a shoe and be happy. It combines garlic and onion, salt and pepper, cheddar, and paprika - flavors familiar to Texas foodies. They often make an appearance in Texas cuisine, barbecue and otherwise.
I'm so pleased to tell you that I happened to win Kerrygold's Reduced Fat and Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter Great Ideas Blogger Contest!
Even if I'd never had the opportunity to participate in the Kerrygold contest, or win it, I'd be writing to you about their fabulous cheese and butters. We purchased Kerrygold when we lived in the UK, and we were so happy to find it when we landed in New Jersey.
All of Kerrygold's butters are of the very highest quality. Their cows live a happy life in fields of Irish green, and you can see it in the butter. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the golden color found naturally in Kerrygold's butter due to all the beta carotene in the grass the cows munch on all their lives.
I could wax poetic about the cheeses Kerrygold offers. By far my favorite is the Aged Cheddar with Irish Whiskey. I could eat this cheese every day for the rest of my life and call it good. It's nutty, it's creamy, and the whiskey asking yourself, "just what is that party on my tongue?".
To celebrate my contest win, I asked Kerrygold if I could create a giveaway basket to give to one of you so that you'd have the chance to experience all my favorite Kerrygold products. Hooray for Kerrygold being generous, because they said yes!

Omigoodness I love so many recipes with cheese!!! One that I adore is one created by my future mother-in-law. It's called "Cheesy Chicken" (creative, I know) and I would obviously use Cheddar! 😛
I follow Kerry gold on facebook!
Oh my. I think I'd have to try out the Duhallow in some sort of a pasta and cheesy cream sauce concoction. I think it would also fare really well in the bacon cheddar dip that appears at any family function I have anything to do with. Yum!
My favorite recipe for Kerrygold cheese isn't really a recipe, per se. I adore their Dubliner with a bit of fig preserves/jam on water crackers. So delicious and simple.
My husband would also be happy because I'd be making copious amounts of mac & cheese.
I also liked Kerrygold on FB. Not sure what took me so long....
I liked Bluebonnets & Brownies on facebook!
My favorite cheese recipe would either be my spinach gratin or the man n cheese style cauliflower bake. I would love to use the Dubliner and/or the Blarney Castle.
I like B & B on Facebook.
I would make cheese straws with the aged cheddar with Irish Whiskey. That sounds divine!
Love the Black Label Reserve Cheddar. Fondue. Need I say more?
I would make my homemade mac and cheese using a combination of Kerrygold's Reserve and aged cheddars.
