Bring a tea kettle into your life
In my last post, I waxed on poetic about the joys of an electric tea kettle. I said in that post how I'd never seen one until I moved to England.
That's kind of not true. I had seen them. They're in Wal-Mart and Target, and even Bed, Bath and Beyond. I just didn't know what they were, or why I would need one.
The electric tea kettle is part of daily home and office life in England. At my work's offices in Woking there are typically 4 kettles on the go on every floor of the office, at every moment of the day. The office even provides tea bags, hot chocolate powder, and instant coffee (which is better than you imagine) for the entire building. Along with bread, butter, milk and fruit - oh, the joys of working in a European office!
I think that electric tea kettles should be in every home and office in America too. That much tea flowing, we'd all be a lot calmer!
I want to bring the joys of an electric tea kettle to your home.

My current favorite flavor is Assam black tea. It's malty and strong, and tastes beautiful with milk or half and half and a little sugar or Splenda.

I love making fresh ginger tea. A chunk of fresh ginger, peeled it and cut it into chunks/diced, smashed it, instead of slicing it, then put in water and bring to a boil, then lower heat to simmer. simmer until you can smell the ginger. 10-15 min. Drink when hot! put about a teaspoonful of honey and optional - squeeze a slice of lemon in the tea. This is also very good for a cold!

I love English Breakfast tea-started drinking it on a trip to Disney World-couldn't stand the coffee-and got hooked!
Oh forgot to add. I enjoy to while huddled in my cold cubicle at school. Usually it's a Breakfast or Earl Grey. I do prefer loose leaves but it's hard to do that at school. I'm a Brit TV fan so find myself settling down at tea time w/a lout fair and tea and I always gring enough for who else happens to show up. I usually tea at 3 instead of 4 because of class schedule. It's like a second wind. And tea is eloquent!
I love tea. I live in. Dry cabin in the woods in AK and warm beverages are essential. The coffee pot is so philistine but it does do the trick. When it's hot I brew a wrong black read & poor over ice in a cup of I've. Voilà instant ice tea! I have over 20 different teas. From classics to homeopathic ( suck as Kava Kava. At any rate. This would be awesome to have so I can make a big pot of tea before walking in the cold weather 3 miles in the -30 degree weather. Cliche but true. I hope Yo get this. They are just out of my buget!!
Constant Comment and Jasmine Tea are favorites that I shared with my grandmother -- at 4PM when I visited her house, or when we went together to San Francisco's Japanese Tea Gardens!
