Giveaway: Land o' Lakes Eggs & Visa Giftcard

As the saying goes, eggs are eggstraordinary. As far as I'm concerned, eggs are the most versatile food on the planet.

You can prepare them in thousands of ways, pair them with ingredient after ingredient - from flour to truffles, and the resulting dish will be stupendous.

You should know, though, that not all eggs are created equal. The quality of an egg is greatly affected by the quality of feed a hen receives, the environment in which it lives, and even the point in the laying cycle in which it's harvested.

I'm glad to know that Land o' Lakes knows all of this and takes it seriously when taking their products to market.

We're about to start a new year -  a time when everyone's mind turns to healthful eating after a few months of indulgence.

Eggs are an integral part of healthful eating, full of protein and omega-3s. You can start the new year off right by incorporating eggs into even the very first meal of the new year.

In my family, New Year's Day has been celebrated as long as I can remember with a beautiful brunch. A spread full of fresh fruit, mimosas to drink, and a different egg dish every year.

This year, I plan to make customized egg soufflés for the family. Using my copycat recipe for Panera Bread Baked Egg Soufflés, each one of us will get the toppings we desire, baked up in perfect little heart shaped ramekins.

Land o' Lakes wants to give one lucky Bluebonnets & Brownies reader the opportunity to plan a New Year's Day Brunch (or any Sunday brunch, for that matter) to start the new year off right.

    1. What I get requested to make the most is a simple decadent pan of slow cooked scrambled eggs with far too much butter to make them so soft and delicious. Yum!

    2. Eggs are a main part of our life... however we always have a breakfast casserole on Christmas Day, easy to make the night before and easy to pop into the oven while the presents are being opened!
      Happy Holidays to you!!!

    3. I would say that my signature dish is Meringues, except that it seems that I've brought dill pickled eggs to the last two family gatherings...

    4. I love making frittata for the holidays. Just whisk some mushrooms bell peppers ham and potatoes into some eggs, season and toss it into a cast iron skillet and bake until jut baked and serve with some warm biscuits 🙂 yum!!
