If you’ve never heard of Chuao Chocolatier, you’re in for a treat. I had a chance to sample some of their chocolates last year, quite randomly, around Easter.
At the time, their hazelnut praline Easter Bunny with popping candy was flat out the best piece of chocolate I’d ever eaten. It was like fireworks of hazelnut and chocolate goodness going off in my mouth.
Chuao Chocolatier contacted me last week regarding their Valentine’s Day plans, and I just knew I had to share them with all of you.
Chuao sent me a few bites of chocolate to sample:
The Love Child Bonbon features an aphrodisiac blend of a port wine drenched dried strawberry in a chocolate ganache.
The Firecracker Bonbon features chipotle caramel fudge, popping candy and sea salt in dark chocolate.
The Potato Chips in Chocolate Bar is pure sweet meets salty bliss.
First of all, if you’re planning to buy chocolates for someone special this Valentine’s Day, I urge you to buy Chuao Chocolate.
They have some of the best flavor combinations I’ve ever seen. So unique, they really will delight whomever you give them to (even if it’s yourself!). It was so hard to decide my favorite of the 3 – like trying to pick your favorite child! But I think the Love Child bonbon takes the cake. That one little bite is chocolate perfection.
Chuao Chocolatier is hosting a crazy contest for Valentine’s Day this year. Open only to specific blog readers, the contest offers a trip for two to San Diego (where Chuao is based), dinner at The Shores restaurant, and a private wine and chocolate pairing event with Master Chef Michael Antonorsi.
You also have the chance to win one of 14 Liminted Edition Sweetheart Boxes filled with 22 signature Chuao Chocolatier bonbons.
In addition, Chuao Chocolatier is offering everyone who reads this post 20% off their entire purchase until February 14th!

Disclaimer: I was given the bonbons and chocolate for review free of charge. However, my post and comments are based on my own experiences with Chuao previous to receipt of those items. I have been a longtime fan of this chocolate maker, and think you will love them too.
