Giveaway: Built NY Gourmet Getaway Pack

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Jenne! Jenne, I hope you love your stylish new lunch accessories!

I kind of feel like things have been a little sporadic here on B&B the last few weeks. I think maybe it’s time to tell you why: I got a new job!

After being laid off in January, I was starting to lose hope.. and then out of the blue, I was matched with a fabulous company who made an offer.

Many of you who know me personally know that for the past twelve years, I made my living as a fraud analyst. It’s a pretty specialized field, filled with people who geek out on credit card fraud and identity theft, and doing everything we can to stop it.

A lot of my own identity was tied to that title, and for a while now, I’ve felt a little lost without it. I worried I’d never find a way back to the field. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working back in fraud!

With this new job has come a fair bit of travel, and a lot of learning, leaving not a lot of time for blogging. But I’ve realized something in all this – I work better under pressure. When I didn’t have a limited window in which to bake, create, etc., I actually felt less creative. Having the limitation on my time has already got my blogging juices flowing again. Hooray for that!

Just before I started my new job, I had a chance to go to the Total Home Event, put on by the lovely ladies over at CoAction PR. This was the second year I was able to attend, and I had even more fun this year!

One of the companies that has been there both years is <a href=”http://www.builtny.com” target=”_blank”Built, a New York based company started by two design guys with a passion for beautiful things. Last year, all the swag bags from the Total Home Event had a Built iPhone silicone soft case. From the moment I left the event, that soft case housed my phone.

I dropped that phone more times than I care to count, and never once did it show it. I was in love with that case from the start because it came off easily when I wanted it to, but stayed put when I didn’t, and is a fabulous fuschia color. It looks brand new today, just as it did the moment I took it out of the package last year.

This year, Built is all about civilizing the urban jungle. At the event, we were shown everything from the new Oragami Wine Tote to a product I am all about in my new job, the Gourmet Getaway Lunch Tote. Made of neoprene, which means it’s completely machine washable, it’s flexible too, so I can fit a huge variety of tupperware containers into the bag.

Paired with their food-safe reusable snack bags, all in the most adorable patterns, and I feel pretty darn NYC ready. Chic, even.

These sandwich bags are ingenious. Coated with food-grade, PVC-, BPA-, latex-, and vinyl-free plastic, you can toss them in the dishwasher to clean them. Store anything from a sandwich to grapes. Accidentally squash those grapes in your purse? It’s okay, the bag comes easily clean again.

I love the idea of a completely waste-free lunch on the go!

So after the Total Home Event, I reached out to Built, and asked if we could do a giveaway here on B&B for you guys. I’m just so smitten with these products, and I really want you to get to know this fabulous, homegrown, American brand. They’re doing great things in all manner of bags, from laptops to lunches.

Built agreed to let me feature them, and I’m proud to offer one lucky B&B reader a Built NY Gourmet Getaway Pack!
